Depending on what stage of wedding planning you are at, you may still be deciding how you want your bridesmaids to look for your wedding. The best part: it’s all your decision! The first step is choosing a dress color and type that will flatter each of your girls. As much as we always laugh at the episode of Friends where Rachel is donning that frilly pink dress, there are so many more options at bridal shops than there used to be! Choose a specific color and then let them decide on their cut. If you want them all to match, choose a dress that will look appropriate on everyone and make sure they know how to get it tailored to fit correctly.

The Hair

Hairstyles for bridesmaids should be simple and elegant. Since everyone’s hair length and texture won’t be the same, brides often choose and accent such as a braid or a specific updo to keep their girls uniform. The beauty of having a team of artists is typically one stylist will do each girl’s hair. This means all your bridesmaids’ hairstyles will have the same aesthetic. Give your girls some guidance as to what you want them to have. The stylist will be able to work with their hair to create a comparable look.

 

The Makeup

Our makeup artists are versatile, but our favorite look to do is clean beauty, flawless and fresh-faced. Our artists work to enhance natural beauty. We always recommend airbrush makeup and lashes for the perfect formal look. A neutral lip and flush cheek will highlight your bridesmaids’ best features while allowing you to shine as the bride. For this beautiful group of bridesmaids from a recent wedding we used a similar neutral color palette and then enhanced their eyes with strip lashes and a soft pink lip.

The Details

It’s all about the details! The little things that make your bridesmaids glammed and ready to go. Often, we see brides buy their girls a piece of jewelry or hair accessory they want them to wear on the big day. Make sure everyone is wearing similar shoes and have the appropriate accents (necklace or earrings) to go with their dress. The goal is for your bridesmaids to feel confident and beautiful while remaining coordinated by your side. The small details will shine in your photos!
