When I met Pam, I was actually at a bride myself at an expo shopping around for vendors. I came by the KiSSandMaKeUp booth and she stopped me dead in my tracts when she saw my makeup! She loved it and asked if I would work for her. At the time I had dabbled with the idea of becoming a makeup artist, but when I met Pam and she was so impressed with my makeup skills, that moment solidified for me that this was what I was meant to do. I have been with the company since 2017 and haven’t looked back since.
I started out in makeup later on in my life. I always loved art and creativity, but when I was in Nursing school, I found this whole other world in makeup and the beauty industry. I began to obsess and collect endless amounts of makeup and trying it on. I loved transforming and creating different beauty looks. For me, makeup is more than just changing how you look on the outside. It’s about enhancing your natural beauty and a form of self expression that you can wear with confidence on your face. That’s what I love the most about being a makeup artist. I can help people see how gorgeous they are and bring their confidence up, which is the most beautiful thing of all.
By trade I work as an ICU nurse. I have always had a connection with people and have this innate drive to help others. Being a nurse can be difficult especially being challenged with so much hardship and obstacles for both patients and families. I think that’s why I love being apart of an industry that allows me to bring joy into people’s lives.
Currently in my makeup career, I have been really focused in creating soft and glowy skin with bold and glamorous eye looks. I specialize in bridal, commercial and editorial looks. I also have a deep obsession with skin care, which I try to incorporate as much of in my skin prep as I can with my clients. Having healthy skin allows the makeup to look even and flawless. My plans for the future are to combine my nursing and my beauty backgrounds together and pursue a career as an aesthetic nurse and become a certified injector in Botox and dermal fillers.
