‘Tis the season! Sugar plums are dancing around, hazelnuts are being roasted on an open fire, Hallmark movies claim 100% of the screen time in your living room, and your Facebook feed is full of engagements. Welcome the first Wedding Wednesday of the official engagement season!
There is something about the holiday season that brings the love (and engagement rings) out of people. Why not, right? It’s a time of merriment, family, happiness, joy, and love- adding an engagement to the mix makes the season a little sweeter.
If you are one of the soon to be brides who are proposed to this holiday season, take some time to let it soak in. Don’t dive right into the planning, enjoy the season and start in the New Year. When you are ready to book your hair and makeup artists here are a few tips.
Be sure you do your research. The CT/MA wedding market offers a lot of vendors, especially when it comes to hair and makeup. Make sure you do a deep dive and look into what each company offers, provides and costs. At the risk of getting caught in a never-ending analysis paralysis, try to keep your lists to 3 companies. A good way to narrow your list down is by looking at reviews (not all companies have 5 stars on The Knot, you know) and stalking the company’s Instagram page and website portfolios. Make sure the artists can achieve the look you are hoping for.
At KiSSandMaKeUp, we offer a variety of options including up styles, down styles, airbrush makeup, traditional makeup, and eyelashes. If a bride so desires, she can also schedule a facial, eyelash extensions or get her eyebrows microbladed as well. All through KiSSandMaKeUp! Permanently fabulous!
Once you narrow your list down, compare their offerings and abilities and schedule trials.
When you schedule your trial with KiSSandMaKeUp, we make sure it is with the artist you will have on your wedding day. Sounds like a no-brainer, but it’s important. Treat your trial like a first date. Let’s be honest, you can learn a lot about someone on a first date (often in the first five minutes). Use this trial as your opportunity to get to know your artist, figure out if you two can vibe together. You will be spending a lot of time with them (and you are trusting your face with them) on your wedding day so it’s good to not be complete strangers.
Come prepared to your trial as well. Bring inspiration photos and be ready to explain what kind of look you are going for on your big day.
KiSSandMaKeUp artists will use this trial as an opportunity to get to know you as well. Is your skin dry? Is your hair fine? Do you have a mane that will take extra time to tame? Are you allergic to anything? Do you want to go full glam or natural? This time spent together will help your wedding day run smoothly.
If you have any questions or concerns about your wedding day makeup, we are happy to help! We have years of experience and an army of artists ready and willing to beautify you and your wedding party on your special day.
