Makeup has always been a significant part of my life. I vividly remember sneaking my mom and sister’s makeup at just six years old secretly applying a little lip gloss and mascara. Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup until a certain age, but my fascination only grew stronger. By the time I was eight, I started earning money from chores and convincing my sister to take me to Walmart. I would buy eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, and makeup remover, then spend hours watching YouTube tutorials, experimenting with looks before wiping it all off before my parents came home.

In middle school, I even kept a small stash of makeup in my locker, sneaking it on during the day. Makeup was something I was naturally drawn to and it became more than just a hobby.

At 14, my life took a dramatic turn. After losing my father and with my mother unable to care for me as she wanted, I lived with my sister’s mother-in-law. By 15, I had moved in with my boyfriend, navigating life without much guidance. In my darkest moments, makeup became my refuge. Sitting at my makeup desk, creating for hours, gave me peace and purpose. I learned by watching YouTube influencers and soon began doing makeup for classmates, charging $25 per session, especially during prom season.

That experience led me to start a makeup Instagram, where I shared my work and began building a client base.

When it came time to choose a college path, my mother, now in a better place to support me, encouraged me to pursue a “practical” career. I enrolled in nursing school at Naugatuck Valley but realized within two weeks that it wasn’t for me. After dropping out, I moved to California to stay with my mother and figure out my next steps.

While there, I attended the LA School of Esthetics, earning my license before returning to Connecticut on my own. I faced challenges— sleeping on a friend’s pullout couch and working tirelessly to rebuild my life. I gained invaluable experience working for top hair and makeup companies, where I learned professionalism, discipline, and industry skills beyond what school could teach.

By 2021, I was able to buy a brand-new car, and in 2022, I moved into my own place with my new boyfriend. By 2024, I had started my family. Makeup not only transformed my career, it saved and empowered me during life’s toughest moments.

Today, I am passionate about using my skills to make others feel confident and beautiful. Being part of your special moments brings purpose to my journey. I can’t wait to have you in my chair and create the look you’ve always dreamed of.
