Our 2018 journey is just beginning. A goal without a plan is only a wish! With so many personal and professional aspirations on our to-do list, our vision board workshop has been greatly anticipated.
Our Vision Board Workshop Recap
In case you missed it, we have so much great information to share with you. I was so excited to spend time with Stephanie Tishler! Stephanie is a Certified Career and Business Coach from Glastonbury, CT. She has worked with many people including Oprah! Leading the workshop, Stephanie used her expertise by helping us form a clear vision for our 2018 goals. This can be especially hard towards the end of January after our new year resolutions have finally settled in!
What is your best advice for staying on track with maintaining goals in the new year?
“The key to achieving goals is to be realistic, focused and enthusiastic. The best way to stay on track with goals is to write them down in order of priority with a specific action plan in mind. Visit that plan often and think about finding an accountability partner. This can be a coach, or it can be a co-worker, family member, or friend. Having someone to help you stay committed and celebrate successes can make all the difference.”
How can creating a vision board create focus and inspire goals you may not have even known you had?
“Often times when creating a Vision Board we choose images and words that are both motivating and inspiring. Sometimes we can even surprise ourselves by what we attract in the process. It is important to note what feelings we have when looking at the images as that will be the driving motivator to achieve them. If you feel good about something, and you think about it often, chances are higher you will want to go after it.”
“For years visualization has been a valued tool. The power of seeing yourself in a specific place or role can create positive and meaningful feelings that will ultimately drive action and results.
People are often surprised when they finish their vision boards. It’s so interesting to see how differently they are organized, what people are drawn to, and what themes become present. Creating a Vision Board is a very helpful tool any time of year. “
Stephanie brought two suitcases full of all different kinds of magazines. As well as stickers and bling to decorate our vision boards. We began by introducing ourselves, and Stephanie introduced herself and told us about her background. She set the tone with an exercise to focus on our senses. It was interesting to hear how everyone reacted differently to the same directions.
Sitting on the table is my own Vision Board that I created 3 or 4 years ago. My focus was on makeup, building my brand, doing more editorial work, decorating my home, living my best life and traveling for a destination wedding.
